One of our major, immediate initiatives is focused on the National Security Presidential Memorandum - 7 (NPSM-7) which was released by the Administration at the end of last month. This memorandum, at minimum, lays out the groundwork for one of the most sweeping attacks on our First Amendment our nation has experienced since the 1940s. In short, NPSM-7 gives Executive Agencies the ability to preemptively investigate American citizens for activities deemed "Un-American", "Un-Christian", and "Anti-Capitalist". These terms remain undefined by the administration, and do not necessitate a crime to have been committed before the IRS, FBI, or DOJ can open investigations on American Citizens or nonprofits for criticism of the Administration.
